speech (separatist state movements)

Thankyou honorable chair,

The republic of Marshall Islands feels that the issue of separatists’ state movements is of paramount importance. We feel strongly about this issue because it is occurring not only within our nation but throughout the international community. Within our country, we are currently dealing with a small separatist group called EnenKio who are trying to claim Wake Island . The members of this group are not citizens of the republic of Marshall Islands and are constantly violating the constitution of Marshall Islands with their false assertions.
These groups are developing for many different reasons and it’s important to differentiate the types so we’ll be able to get to the core problems. There are many groups out their with intentions to only use fraudulent accusations against their governments in order to accomplish their goals of laying claim to places and justifying their reasons for malicious actions. There are also, on the other hand, groups that are being mistreated by their governments and are in need of assistance because of the harsh conditions that they have no power to overcome alone.
The problem of these separatist groups developing around the nation is that being that there are many reasons for their development, it becomes difficult to distinguish which are for the good of the people and which are doing the opposite. When we can’t distinguish between the two, some ignore the problem in general or end up granting it less attention than it deserves.
In order to eliminate this problem, the first step is to make a distinction between which groups are in need of aid and which are harmful to us. Once we have done this, we’ll be able to provide the specific attention that’s necessary to each case. We can’t do this alone though.
The motto of Marshall Islands is accomplishment through joint effort. Without unification, communication and organization, this problem will only spread, leading to more chaos. The republic of Marshall Islands encourages the committee to unite to evaluate both sides of this issue to come up with an effective solution for every nation on the world.
